VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES
Volunteers gain new understanding about how autism affects families and they network with others who share their interest in helping the autism community. Socials increase resources for underserved adults with autism and their caregivers. Community volunteers enable socials to be cost-free for all guests. The Family Autism Network recruits student and faculty volunteers from local universities, professional autism service providers, and members of philanthropic and non-profit organizations to serve as hosts at each event. Together, they increase autism resources and opportunities for community integration.
Community Service Hours are granted for volunteer service. Volunteers typically arrive 2 hours earlier than guests for a brief orientation and time to network with other hosts before guests arrive.
