School Transitions: Expectations and Preparations
February 28 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
School transitions from preschool to kindergarten, elementary to middle school, middle to high school and adult transition (if applicable) can be exciting, but they may sometimes be unsettling for students with disabilities and their families because of the changes in services and routines.
Each type of transition brings unique changes, and for this reason, we invited several school district representatives to share information about:
- What to expect during each school transition?
- What are the big changes that will be occurring?
- What are school districts providing in preparation for the transitions?
- What can parents do to help prepare and support their children before each transition?
Our goal is to ensure that this training provides useful information and suggestions to strengthen your confidence and comfortability in navigating through transitions.
