Geared toward postsecondary educators and staff in the California Community College system, this webinar will share information about the broader landscape of supports for students with disabilities offered through the California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) and Regional Centers. We will use a question-and-answer format to learn about DOR and Regional Center eligibility, referral processes, engagement and collaboration opportunities, and the types of available services and supports that may promote the success of college students with developmental disabilities, including autism and intellectual disability. This knowledge is essential for any college staff working directly with students with developmental disabilities, many of whom may be interacting with or would benefit from connecting with these different systems.
This will be a two-part webinar series hosted by the UCLA Tarjan Center in collaboration with the California Association for Postsecondary Education and Disability (CAPED) ASD-ID Interest Group. This first webinar provides a foundational understanding of DOR and Regional Center, while the second webinar will highlight examples and existing success stories of how colleges have collaborated with these agencies. Join us to elevate your understanding of resources, connections, and possibilities at these events.
