CampCare is a non-sectarian and non-profit, special education camp that began in Reno, Nevada in 1971. At CampCare we believe that all people are special. We strive to provide a program which recognizes individual differences and creates enriching life experiences that will enhance the educational and environmental background of each camper.
CampCare has a proud tradition of giving individual attention as well as offering small group activities in a caring atmosphere. Individuals with learning disabilities including attention deficit disorder, mild mental retardation, cerebral palsy, seizure disorder, visual and hearing disabilities are part of the camp population. Campers must have basic self-help skills, they must be toilet trained and have positive social behavior. Campers may be 6-22 years of age. Exceptions for older campers are made at the discretion of the camp director.
