The Learning Center

The Help Group Learning Center is a K-12 program providing a tailored educational curriculum for families who have opted to homeschool their children. The Learning Center provides a rigorous curriculum in the core academic subjects of English language arts, history, science, and mathematics, as well as opportunities for accelerated learning for those who are advanced in one or more areas, and a wide array of non-academic classes. ABOUT STEM³ ACADEMY

Located in Culver City, Irvine, and Valley Glen, The Help Group’s STEM³ Academy provides a robust K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based curriculum to students with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other social and learning differences. Special Needs Judo

Senshi Judo has just launched it’s Special Needs Judo program! Open to all children (ages 5+) and adults with physical and mental disabilities, Senshi Judo offers 4 training sessions a week! Participants will learn modified self-defense in a small and safe learning environment, perfect for children who need one-on-one attention.

Parenting on the Spectrum Study (in-home study)

We are recruiting research participants for an in-home study for mothers of children between the ages of 3 through 7 who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). We will ask parents about parenthood and participants will be given the opportunity to provide cheek swabs for DNA samples. Families can receive up to $90 for completing home visits. Aiko & Egor: Animation 4 Autism

Aiko & Egor displays simplied animation, engaging underwater characters, and utilitzes research-based curriculum. The videos are intended to be watched together by children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their family members, but can be enjoyed by many different children and adults. The app currently presents three different ways to watch the videos: 1) Play Video, 2) Learn Together, and 3) Skill Games.

School Lunchtime Inclusion Application – “Sit With Us”

This application was developed to prevent bullying and invite school age children to join others at lunch. It was developed by a teenage girl who was bullied and excluded at lunchtime and it can be used in any school setting. Top Flight Hockey

Top Flight Hockey is designed for participants with special needs. Participants vary in age and ability levels. The League runs group practices/clinics as well as games weekly. Group practices focus on helping participants establish basic hockey skills like shooting, passing and stick handling.
