ONLINE Teen Support Group with Dr. Gantman

OCASG will be hosting ONLINE expert-led Teens-Only support sessions. This “Teens-Only” group is intended for teens from age 13 to 18 who have their own unique challenges including bullying, academic stress, family conflict, and limited friendships.

This discussion group is being led by noted psychologist and Autism expert Dr. Alex Gantman.

Meeting Dates:

  • Sunday, 6/26/2022
  • Sunday, 9/25/2022
  • Sunday, 11/6/2022

​Time: 10:00 am to Noon

The fee is $20 per session for dues-paying members of OCASG only. Note that you will need to execute a Liability Waiver.

About Dr. Gantman

Dr. Alexander Gantman has unique clinical training in evidence-based treatments and expertise in the domain of psychosocial functioning of adolescents and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety and Mood Disorders. Dr. Gantman received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from PGSP-Stanford University Consortium. He received a highly prestigious Ruth L. Kirchstein Institutional (T32) National Research Service Award from the National Institute for Mental Health. At UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience, he was a Principal Investigator on the adaptation and development of the PEERS Program, an evidence-based, parent-assisted, social skills group intervention for adolescents, to address the unique needs of college age young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. His research has been published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, and his work has been presented at professional conferences including the International Meeting for Autism Research.

The Learning Center

The Help Group Learning Center is a K-12 program providing a tailored educational curriculum for families who have opted to homeschool their children. The Learning Center provides a rigorous curriculum in the core academic subjects of English language arts, history, science, and mathematics, as well as opportunities for accelerated learning for those who are advanced in one or more areas, and a wide array of non-academic classes. Located in Culver City, Irvine, and Valley Glen, The Help Group’s STEM³ Academy provides a robust K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based curriculum to students with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and other social and learning differences. Special Needs Judo

Senshi Judo has just launched it’s Special Needs Judo program! Open to all children (ages 5+) and adults with physical and mental disabilities, Senshi Judo offers 4 training sessions a week! Participants will learn modified self-defense in a small and safe learning environment, perfect for children who need one-on-one attention.
